About the job

As Head of People & Culture at MadeBrave, you should champion a people-centric strategy and culture, creating the right environment for our values and purpose-driven business to thrive.

You should be an effective relationship builder and will support the board, company directors and team leaders to meet our objectives and key results (OKRs) with a dedicated and considered people strategy, allowing the company to develop and grow quickly.

In this role, you are responsible for all human resources and people-related activities leaning into external partners as and when required. With big ambitions to make MadeBrave the best company to work for in the world, we need to build a great team, with simple yet effective people systems and processes that enable our team to focus on doing their best work and deliver outstanding creative work for our clients.

As HoP&C, you will be responsible for helping us develop a working framework that supports people managers and individuals to enable that freedom whilst ensuring the business operates as successfully as possible.

As HoP&C you will partner and collaborate with all areas of the company to help our leadership team and people managers build and support their teams. This will involve driving recruitment of the best talent, performance consulting with team leaders, helping to resolve employee relations issues and managing programs that facilitate the continued development of our people and ensure that all staff understand their contributions to our success.

The Role 

  • Reporting to the CEO & COO, lead and refine a comprehensive People Strategy to drive all human resources and learning and development related activities which support our wider OKRs.

  • Manage a people and culture team which looks after all HR systems and processes that enhance employee experience; simplify and streamline processes for line managers and provide useful data to help guide decision making, and allow the company to scale effectively and efficiently.
  • Own and manage a budget for all HR / L&D related activities ensuring utilisation in the most efficient and effective way to support the wider goals of the business.
  • Build and utilise a strong and credible network of consultants to support activities outside the scope of capability within the business.
  • Provide HR support and consultation across the business on complex issues, supporting staff, managers and team leaders in areas such as recruitment & talent planning, performance management, compensation and rewards, staff relations, and people development.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to your own continued professional development to keep yourself informed of the most relevant practice, thought leadership and legislation in HR practice.
  • Provide regular reports on key areas of HR data which feed into our OKR metrics.
  • Oversee effective payroll reporting in partnership with our external partners.
  • Provide leadership on people related issues and policies across the company.
  • Be able to communicate at all levels in the company and to support business development and change.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of working in an HR capacity at a strategic level to support business leaders and operations

  • CIPD qualification and active membership (Level 5 or above)
  • A demonstrable track record in managing and driving change effectively
  • Excellent communication skills - able to articulate ideas, opinions and feedback clearly and confidently with a level of self-awareness, self-management and social awareness. Also able to practice active listening, with intent to understand. Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Inquisitive and curious mind - an eagerness to learn continuously and seek out best practice solutions for policy and framework across the business.
  • People Management - skilled in coaching, delegation, performance management and supporting people development.
  • Discretion & diplomacy - An ability to exercise discretion and adhere to confidentiality requirements when handling sensitive data.

Other details:

  • This is a temporary 9 month contract (may be potential to extend thereafter)
  • Flexible working role which could be full -time or part-time (30hrs minimum)
  • Based in Glasgow, Scotland
  • Salary range, £35-45k DOE
